“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” “… ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25: 35, 49
Ascension is active in various Social Ministry activities, providing many opportunities for individuals of all ages to participate in these fulfilling missions.
Members provide food baskets for the needy at Thanksgiving and Christmas each year; we also maintain a food pantry all year around.
The Christmas season is made merrier for many with the toy drives, and “Operation Christmas Child” shoe boxes donated by Ascension’s parishioners.
Closer to home, we hold an annual blood drive for the benefit of the Red Cross and we host coffee hour after services every Sunday.
No matter your age or your talent, there is a place for you with Ascension’s Social Ministry!
