Children’s Ministry at Ascension is more than just Sunday education classes. We invite children to participate in a choir, Family Fun Nights, Summer Day Camp, and other special seasonal events, and use our Nursery.
NURSERY (6 months to 2 yr olds)
Nursery is available for any children from 6 months to 2 years old during the 9am and 10:30am worship services, year-round.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Faith! Family! Fun! are woven together to help children experience God’s grace and love through service projects, music, stories, games and crafts. Prayer, friendship, and small group connections within the classroom are emphasized.
Ascension’s Sunday morning classes are offered during the 10:30am worship for 3 year olds through 5th Grade. These classes run from September to June. Children start in worship with their families and are dismissed to Music from the Children’s Message. After their Music and Worship time, students go to their classrooms for stories, games, and crafts. They are dismissed from Sunday school after the worship service in the sanctuary ends.
During the months of July and August we have a one-room style Sunday school at the 10:30am worship services.
Sunday School Registration is open all school year.
NEVER BEEN TO SUNDAY SCHOOL?
Here at Ascension, our children begin in worship with their families. About 10-15 minutes into the service, all children are invited to come to the front of the church for the Children’s Sermon. Children are then dismissed to Sunday school. Teacher accompany students from the sanctuary to music and their classrooms. After worship is done, parents pick up their children from their classrooms.
ASCENSION SUMMER DAY CAMP
Ascension Lutheran Day Camp is a four week program for children
from three years old to children who have completed 6th grade.
Children who have completed 7th and 8th grade have the opportunity
to attend camp as Counselors in Training (CIT’s) for a reduced rate.
Ascension Day Camp provides a safe environment where children participate in:
Music, Arts and Crafts, Sports, Water Games, Bible Stories and More!

CHILDREN’S CHOIR
Open to all Kindergarten to 5th grade students. Contact David Johnson for more information.
Ascension celebrates families of all shapes, sizes, ages etc. We have many service projects and events where all are welcome. Some of our favorites are the Day of Service, Rally Day, Chili Cook-off and the Egg-stravaganza.
